Suggestions for a Successful Handoff
Balloon Storage and Care
Clarify Transport Requirements: An average 10-to-12-foot balloon garland will not fit in a standard sedan or SUV unless it is completely empty with the seats folded flat. Explicitly state in your listing: "Must pick up in a large SUV, minivan, or truck."
Omit the Structural Frame: If your arch is built on a heavy metal frame, hoop, or stand, do not sell the frame unless you want to lose your hardware investment. Instead, slide the balloon cluster sections off your stand, or build it as a flexible garland using fishing line or balloon tape. The next-day buyer can easily hang it on their wall using simple, damage-free Command hooks.
Keep it Indoors Overnight: If you take the arch down on Saturday night, store it in a climate-controlled room (like a living room or garage) overnight. Do not leave it outside or in a hot car trunk, as morning dew or temperature swings will oxidize the latex and pop the balloons.
Fresh Flower Storage and Care
Keep them hydrated: Replenish vases with fresh, cool water immediately after the event ends.
Avoid extreme temperatures: Store the flowers in a climate-controlled room or cool garage overnight. Never leave them outside in the morning dew or in a hot car trunk, as they will wilt instantly.
Keep the transport boxes: Save the plastic trays, buckets, or boxes your original florist used to deliver the arrangements. They are crucial for keeping the vases stable during the next-day move.
